Day 3 of 10 Days of Prayer 2020
By: D. Karl Thomas
Welcome to day 3 of “10 Days Of Prayer
How to pray for recovery!!!
Today we want to put into practice the ability to recover all. We will not quit until we see the full restoration of the purposes of God!!!
John 10:10
“The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).”
Jesus’ purpose for coming was to restore us to life, full and overflowing.
The devils work always begins with theft.
The thing he loves to steal most is God’s Word.
Faith is developed through believing God’s word. With your ability to believe gone, hope is gone, strength is gone and he can then kill and destroy.
What is the enemy trying to steal from you today?
Your: Zeal – Purpose – Marriage – Children – Health – Finances
Don’t ever yield to the lies of the enemy. Stay focused on the word.
The enemy has been defeated and he has no authority. Don’t give him a foothold by entertaining his lies. He is the father of lies.
Colossians 2:15
“[God] disarmed the principalities and powers that were ranged against us and made a bold display and public example of them, in triumphing over them in Him and in it [the cross].
Hebrews 2:14
“…that by [going through] death He might bring to nought and make of no effect him who had the power of death–that is, the devil”
Did Jesus complete his ministry on our behalf at the cross? Did He make the devil of no effect? YES and a big fat YES!!!
Don’t ever let the devil take your stuff. Demand the restoration of all and more.
One of my favourite recovery stories is in 1 Samuel 30. David loses everything and yet in one of his darkest hours he turns to God and gets restoration and more.
David was anointed to be be King years before and yet he went many difficult trials before that anointing was manifest.
1 Samuel 16:13
“Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed David in the midst of his brothers; and the Spirit of the Lord came mightily upon David from that day forward.”
Only a couple of days later he would be anointed as King of Judah.
2 Samuel 2:4
“And the men of Judah came and there they anointed David king over the house of Judah.”
Often your greatest breakthrough is preceded by your greatest trial.

7 Observations From David’s Recovery In 1 Samuel 30
- Be Still
“But David …” vs. 6
Don’t get angry, run, hide, argue, or blame.
STOP! Don’t act out of your emotions.
- Strengthen Yourself
“…encouraged and strengthened himself in the Lord his God.” vs. 6
In the middle of this tragedy David was drawing on the resources of God.
“But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy
Ghost,…” Jude 20
- Ask God What To Do
“And David inquired of the Lord,…” vs.8
God is ready to give you a living word.
“When I called, you answered me; you made me bold and stouthearted.” Psalm 138:3
- Obey His Direction
“So David went,…” vs. 9
Obedience is the acid test of faith.
Only the word you do is active in your life.
- Stay Sweet
“…and when he had eaten, his spirit returned to him,…” vs. 12
“They shall share alike.” vs. 24
Inspire the discouraged. vs. 6 “People spoke of stoning him”
Feed the Egyptian. vs. 11 “they gave him bread and he ate, and they let him drink water.”
Bless the less resilient. vs. 24 “ so shall his part be who stays by the supplies; they shall share alike.”
- Be Thankful
“He has preserved us and has delivered into our hands the troop that came against us.”24
Always give glory to God as your source.
- Share With Others
“Here is a gift for you of the spoil of the enemies of the Lord:” vs. 26
Freely you have received freely give.
Bless others as a testimony of goodness in your life.
God always gives you more than enough so that you have seed to sow.
Often you will find yourself going through your greatest struggle just before a major breakthrough; your greatest victory.
Obstacles will reveal what you truly believe and who you really are. They introduce you to yourself. You will find out what you honestly believe in the face of a problem.
In the midst of unbelievable circumstances, believe.
Stand in faith! Take back what’s yours.
PRAYER DIRECTIVES:
When you feel everything is lost and you can’t go on … Stop!!! You are very close to the fulfillment of God’s best for your life.
Don’t ever be the victim. You are condemned, by the finished work of the cross, to TRIUMPH!!!
Think of areas where the enemy has tried to steal from you … your family … your church community. Encourage yourself in God and demand your stuff back.
We command health to be restored!
We command wealth to be restored!
We command relationships to be restored!
We command passion to be restored!
Continue to pray for “See Yourself Here.” and keep Henry in your prayers.
